Vitrine Filmes presents the film distribution laboratory Vitrine Lab, in its Seventh Edition in the year 2026, with Sponsorship from Sessão Vitrine Petrobras, Support from Projeto Paradiso, and Marahu Lab. Institutional Support from Expocine, Mostra de São Paulo and Encontro de Ideias Audiovisuais. Media Support from Atômica Lab.
Vitrine Lab is a laboratory focused on training students and audiovisual professionals interested in working in the film distribution field, with or without prior experience. It is also intended for producers, directors, screenwriters and other professionals in the field who wish to deepen their knowledge in cinematographic areas related to their main practice.
We believe that the connection between different links in the audiovisual chain is essential for building creative and sustainable partnerships in the long term.
In constant dialogue with the present, the course presents case studies of releases from Vitrine Filmes and its catalog of over 200 titles. Promoting critical analysis of changes in the sector, it brings together a plural curation of guest specialists — in tune with Vitrine Filmes' experienced team — to offer deep, connected and collaborative training. Each meeting features dialogued presentations, concrete experiences, work routines and reflections on the current scenario.
The laboratory will be held entirely online, offering collaborative and accessible training, aiming to expand the dissemination of knowledge and broaden its reach at a national level.
The selection of participants will seek a balance in the selection process, allowing for diversity among students, with regard to professional experience, groups belonging to social minorities (Black people, Indigenous people, trans people, people with disabilities and single mothers), low-income people and residents in regions outside the Rio-São Paulo axis.
Vitrine Lab aims to contribute to the promotion of Brazilian audiovisual diffusion throughout the national territory, acting directly on the bottleneck in distribution training to qualify professionals capable of bringing independent films to the public. The lab's mission is to favor access to culture, social inclusion and the economic development of the country, ensuring that all 130 selected participants enroll in the course free of charge.
The project seeks to expand and democratize access to specialized training in audiovisual, focusing on film distribution and commercialization. We believe that through geographic decentralization and the diversification of professionals working in the field, it is possible to foster critical thinking and develop more dynamic and creative strategies, capable of responding to current forms of content consumption by different audiences across multiple windows, exhibitors and platforms.
This process of insertion into the audiovisual circulation chain produces concrete effects in the short, medium and long term: it creates and expands training and circulation spaces outside already consolidated hubs, strengthening the industry as a whole. We understand that wherever there is consistent circulation of audiovisual works, there is also promotion of audience development, an essential element for the cultural and economic sustainability of the sector. Over 6 editions, Vitrine Lab has contributed to the development of more than 600 professionals.
The Seventh Edition of Vitrine Lab will feature two theoretical modules, the first focused on curation and strategy and the second focused on feature film releases in theaters across the country.
Over twelve sessions, topics related to the value chain of the film industry, business, creative and executive distribution practices will be addressed, including curation, planning and campaign strategy, film release, programming, exhibition circuit and the execution of a film's marketing campaign across all its stages.
The classes will be mediated by professionals working in the market, including members of the Vitrine team and guest speakers. The class schedule was developed with the objective of fostering strategic and market-oriented thinking among professionals, aiming to provide an overview of the entire film distribution chain.
The target audience of Vitrine Lab are students and audiovisual professionals interested in working in the film distribution field, with or without prior experience. It is also intended for producers, directors, screenwriters and other professionals in the field who wish to deepen their knowledge in cinematographic areas related to their main practice.
