Vitrine Filmes is an independent film distributor that has been promoting and valuing Brazilian and Latin American audiovisual production for 15 years. It pioneered the decentralization of the exhibition circuit with the Sessão Vitrine project and, since 2020, has been expanding its operations with initiatives such as Vitrine España, dedicated to the production and distribution of films in Europe; the Manequim label, aimed at titles for large audiences; and the online course Vitrine Lab, winner of the 2021 Gotebörg Film Fund award for innovative distribution. and Vitrine Produções, which produces and co-produces short films, documentaries and feature films, including “Levante”, by Lillah Halla, winner of the FIPRESCI prize at the 2023 Critics' Week, “Retratos Fantasmas”, by Kléber Mendonça Filho, the most watched documentary of the last 8 years in cinemas and also shown in Cannes in 2023, and “Cidade; Campo”, by Juliana Rojas, shown in Berlin 2024 and received the Best Director award, in the main parallel section of the Berlin Film Festival, the Encounters section.
Over 5 million people have already watched films from the Vitrine catalog in theaters. Highlights of the catalog include "Bacurau," winner of the Jury Prize at Cannes; "Druk – Mais Uma Rodada," winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film; and "Nosso Sonho," the biopic of Claudinho and Buchecha, the highest-grossing Brazilian film of 2023.
In 2025, Vitrine will have already released “Baby,” by Marcelo Caetano; “Kasa Branca,” by Luciano Vidigal; and “Saneamento Básico” and “Ilha das Flores,” by Jorge Furtado, with remastered 4K copies. Also this year, “O Último Azul,” by Gabriel Mascaro, winner of the Silver Bear in Berlin, and “O Agente Secreto,” the new film by Kleber Mendonça Filho, which recently received the awards for best director and best actor (Wagner Moura) in the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival, will arrive in theaters.
