What is Vitrine Lab?

Vitrine Lab is a free course on film distribution, with 12 modular online classes that will take place between the months of October and November 2024, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 7pm to 9pm.
Who is Vitrine Lab for?
Students and professionals who are interested in working in the field, with or without experience in film distribution; as well as those who are seeking specific knowledge in areas related to their main field of work , such as producers, directors, and even screenwriters. Any person over the age of 18 (eighteen) and residing in the national territory can apply for the Vitrine Lab vacancies.

What is the course curriculum?

  • Lesson 3: Development, Production and Launch Processes: the relationship between distributors and producers
  • Lesson 4: Contractual Aspects, Business Models and Economic Viability in Distribution

  • Lesson 6: Circuit Design and the Brazilian Exhibition Park (Programming)
  • Lesson 7: Cinematographic Exhibition
  • Lesson 8: Post Production and Editing: from delivery to trailer

Note: The order of the classes may be altered at the discretion of Vitrine Filmes at in the interests of the best performance of the laboratory and the availability of the guest lecturers .

When do the classes take place?

Classes take place online, through the Zoom platform, between the months of October and November 2024, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 7pm to 9pm.
Note: The class schedule may be altered at the discretion of Vitrine Filmes at in the interests of better lab performance and the availability of guest teachers .

Will the classes be recorded?

Yes. The classes will be held live and, from the day after the broadcast, the recording will be available exclusively to participants at private Vimeo link for 48 hours.

What is the cost of taking part in Vitrine?

All places on the theoretical module of Vitrine Lab - Fifth Edition are free of charge. The Fifth Edition of the course was awarded by Notice No. 09/2023 - SUPPORT FOR TECHNICAL AND CREATIVE AUDIOVISUAL COURSES, and is being held with the support of the Federal Government, the Ministry of Culture, the Municipal Department of Culture of the City of São Paulo and SPCINE, with funds from the Paulo Gustavo Law. Participants will be selected through a process conducted by , the Vitrine Filmes team, according to the call for entries.
Applications for a place on the Vitrine Lab will take place between September 23, 2024 and September 30, 2024, or until the limit of 650 (six hundred and fifty) people have registered. The following texts and information will be requested at the time of registration:

  • Personal data

  • Mini-bio (max 600 characters);
  • Resume (PDF, max 2 pages);
  • Letter of intent telling a little about your personal history and why you would like to take part in the lab (PDF, max 1 page);
  • Publicity photo (JPEG or PNG, max 3 mb)
  • Declaration of gender, ethnicity and family income
  • Proof of residence.

Vitrine Filmes encourages submissions and prioritizes the selection of people belonging to minority groups, such as blacks, indigenous people, trans people and people with disabilities; mothers and residents of the Midwest, North and Northeast regions and with an individual income equal to or less than 2 minimum wages, with or without experience in film distribution.

The registration form will be available on the Vitrine Filmes website at 23/09/2024.

The results of the selection of participants will be announced by October 25, 2024.

Who can apply for Vitrine Lab - Fifth Edition?

Anyone residing in Portugal can apply to Vitrine Lab - Fifth Edition. To do so, you need to fill in the application form which will be available from 23/09/2024 via the link: https://wkf.ms/4cVwYtT
In order to democratize access to the course, Vitrine Filmes will prioritize the selection of people belonging to minority groups, such as blacks, indigenous people, people with disabilities and trans people; mothers and residents of the Midwest, North and Northeast regions and with an income equal to or less than 2 minimum wages.

What is the registration period for Vitrine Lab - Fifth Edition?

Vitrine Lab registration begins on September 23, 2024, at 00:01, and closes on September 30, 2024 at 23:59. All registrations must be made through this form.

Will a certificate be issued?

Yes, at the end of the course, Vitrine Filmes will issue a certificate to participants who have been present for at least 80% of the live classes.

What is the practical module?

At the end of the theoretical module, up to two participants from the fifth edition of Vitrine Lab will be selected to have a practical experience with the marketing and/or programming team(s) at Vitrine Filmes. The practical experience period may take place on a hybrid basis for people living in the city of São Paulo, or remotely for people living elsewhere in Brazil. The program will last 3 months, with a workload of 30 hours per week.
