Vitrine Lab is a free course on film distribution aimed at training students and professionals seeking an executive career in the audiovisual industry. The lab is designed for remote learning, with the aim of expanding the dissemination of knowledge and broadening its reach at the national level.
By promoting classes and discussions on current practices in the film market, the lab also aims to be a space for reflection on the future of film distribution in Brazil. Thus, by connecting people, sharing the knowledge of industry experts, and proposing discussions on the subject, it is hoped to foster innovation and create a network of professionals trained to work in the film distribution segment in Brazil.
The laboratory aims to contribute to the promotion of culture, social inclusion, and the economic development of the country. Thus, up to 120 (one hundred and twenty) free spots will be made available to participants who will be selected through a process conducted by the Vitrine Filmes team.
The selection of participants will prioritize those who self-identify as belonging to social minorities, such as Black people, Indigenous people, transgender people, and people with disabilities; mothers and people with an individual income equal to or less than two minimum wages are also priority groups for selection. Part of the places (10%) will be reserved for members of the SPCINE affirmative network.
The Fifth Edition of Vitrine Lab is being held with the support of the Federal Government, the Ministry of Culture, the Municipal Secretariat of Culture of the City of São Paulo, and SPCINE, with funds from the Paulo Gustavo Law.
The fifth edition of Vitrine Lab consists of two learning modules.
The theoretical module consists of 12 classes and will provide an overview of the formal aspects of feature film distribution in Brazil. Topics related to the national film industry value chain, business practices, executive production, digital and offline marketing, content production, public policy, movie theater programming, and more will be covered. These classes will be taught by professionals working in the market, including members of the Vitrine team and guests. The lesson plan was developed with the aim of fostering strategic and marketing thinking in projects, from their conception through the entire long tail of the distribution activity .
At the end of the theoretical module, we will begin the practical experience period: the Vitrine Filmes team will select up to two participants to accompany the company's marketing and/or programming team(s) during the release of a film in theaters. The practical module will last three months and consist of 30 hours per week.
